About the course
Waterville Golf Links, on the Ring of Kerry, is one of the great links courses of the world — a course of extraordinary length, beauty, and challenge. Eddie Hackett's original design was refined by Tom Fazio in 2001, adding length and strategic complexity while preserving the course's essential wild character. Payne Stewart, the late US Open champion, loved Waterville so much that a bronze statue of him stands on the 18th tee. The course is set between Ballinskelligs Bay and a freshwater lake, with the MacGillycuddy's Reeks mountains visible on clear days.
