Beyond the Dunes
Dooks Golf Club on the southern shore of Dingle Bay with the Kerry mountains beyond

HIDDEN GEM

Dooks Golf Club

The secret the locals have kept too long

Dooks is the course that golfers discover by accident and return to by design. Tucked into the southern shore of Dingle Bay, it is one of Ireland's oldest links courses — and one of its least known outside the county.

The course winds through ancient dunes above the water's edge, with views across to the Dingle Peninsula and the MacGillycuddy's Reeks that are among the finest in Irish golf. Dooks is not a course that announces itself — it simply delivers, quietly and completely.

"One of the most underrated links courses in Ireland."
